According to the written confession of Seki Inaba, he served as the Communications Captain of the independent mixed Third Brigade of the Japanese Army. On 5 March 1945, during an attack on a village in Fanzhi County, Shanxi Province, “led five subordinates to arrest ten women taking refuge at a concave ground in the northeast of the village, and delivered them to the squadron headquarters ... When departing the village, the squadron commander gave the instruction to take away 20 women aged between 17 and 20 from among the women that were captured for setting up the comfort station of the squadron. These women were bound in two rows with ropes, like stringed beads, so that they would not fall behind ... Because they walked too slow, I tied the ropes to the saddles, and let the horses pull them to run. As a result, the women were pulled down one after another, and many of them injured”.
